With complicated immigration histories, changing borders, unarchived immigration records, and dynamic modern interpretation of past laws, the 20th century produced unique citizenship-by-descent eligibility. If you are unsure about where to begin your family history immigration research, start here if you are eligible for any citizenship-by-descent program. This research package has us build your family tree back to the ancestors who emigrated from their home countries, which is generally four generations back. We will then request immigration documentation for those who immigrated and naturalized to build a citizenship timeline and determine edibility. We cannot always obtain records from the countries of origin at this price but we can confirm whether they exist or were destroyed during 20th century conflicts. If you book a call, the cost of the call counts towards this service.

Projects range depending on the availability of clearly determinative immigration records. Different countries require different genealogical documentation to determine eligibility. Those differing genealogical documents all have varying request timelines, either for verifying their existence or obtaining an authenticated reproduction.
Historically Incomplete Records
A US record might suggest an ancestor provides eligibility but records in the country of origin may no longer exist. Ancestors also did not always understand the laws and administration procedures of the time, so records can be incomplete.

Eligibility research involves researching the branches of the family tree to understand who might provide eligibility for citizenship-by-descent. An ancestor provides eligibility based on when they were a citizen of their country of origin, when they naturalized as a new citizen in a new country, and how that citizenship change applied to their children. A booked call counts towards this fee and this package counts towards an end-to-end project fee.
